About Sarah
My name is Sarah Silvestri and I am a recent University of Michigan graduate with a degree in Political Science. My service stands out because I can relate to students on a personal level, as a recent college grad. I was in their shoes recently! Despite my age, my resume is long. I had five internships during college, and two jobs in academia. I ran my own company, an LLC, in high school, and have been working with studnets ranging from kindergarten through college for years.
I have extensive academic and professional writing experience, and was a fastidious student from elementary school through undergrad. I can help with academic writing up to the collegiate level in history/social sciences, and english literature and creative composition. As an eldest sibling, and mentor to many younger students in college business clubs, I have helped with all stages of the college and job application process--from resume building, to application essays, to interview prep, etiquette and attire!
I am available in during evenings and weekends. Please check out my LinkedIn at (concealed information) for more insight into my professional and academic experience.
I began tutoring and peer advising my second semester in college through the two business clubs I belonged to at the University of Michigan. I began working with younger children as a babysitter, homework helper, and skiing/sailing instructor at age 14, and earned my PSIA instructing certifications begininng at age 16.
I am a 2015 graduate of Brookline High School, and a 2019 Graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Political Science.
During college I had five internships, and two academic jobs - one working with student athletes for five semesters, and one as a Teacher's Assistant for a Complex Systems course for three semesters.
I was a member of two business clubs at Michigan, one focused on networking and professional development, and the other a pro bono student run marketing agency that works with local Ann Arbor businesses. Through those clubs, I mentored 12+ high school (Brookline & Wellesley) and college (Michigan, William & Mary, Quinnipiac) students by helping them with written homework assignments, application essays, resume building/creation, LinkedIn networking, and interview prep.
I am also an experience sailing and skiing instructor, with teaching certifications from Professional Ski Instructors of America. In order to receive my Alpine Levels I and II certifications, and my Child Specialist certification, I studied numerous teaching methods and developmental psychology to work with and relate to students of all capabilites and ages.

I meet with new students face to face to discuss their goals, and how they hope to reach them by working with me, their tutor. Then I work with them to devise a plan for how to accomplish said goals in actionable steps. Classes, college applications, and hunting for internships and extracurriculars can be overwhelming and hard to juggle. Something that has helped me thrive under pressure is breaking down lofty, seemingly far off goals into smaller tasks that I can accomplish starting today.
In the academic and professional arenas, I have worked with high school and college students.
