About Marcus

Hello! We aim to provide exceptional service and accommodations to all students who require assistance and/or simply refinement of their pre-existing skills. Flexible and convenience scheduling along with a learning plan that is specifically crafted to a student's needs are one of the many facets of our superior service.

I enjoy helping studetns achieve their goals and learning many new ways of approaching my own studies. Every student is a new experience and it is often a growing experience for both parties involved

I began tutoring independently during High School and found that I was very proficient at connecting with students and adapting to many different learning styles. After graduating, I have continued to learn and teach several different ways that have all benefited students greatly and yield consistently positive results.

Many years of tutoring and assistant teaching at URI and CCRI along with additional years of experiece in online turtoring as a contractor.

About the lesson

After initial contact, I generally ask about the time availability of the student along with any preferred methods of contact/learning. After that, we work together to find out which styles of learning are most effective with the student. After establishing this, we move on to which tasks will need to be completed with the student and how best to proceed with these tasks.

I have worked with Middle School, High School, and University/College students over the years.

Every student benefits from receiving help during their studies. Working with others will always lead to better results than working alone. When receiving help, never hesitate to ask as many questions as possible and request an alternate way of approaching the information if necessary.

There are many students that I have worked with recently that I would consider to have been wonderful experiences. One that comes to mind is a student that was studying English as a Second Language; after many lessons, his English has improved remarkably and has recently been accepted to university in an attempt to help his family and community. Working with this student and many others have been both an amazing teaching and learning experience.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Questions that students should think about before talking to teachers about their needs are: What parts of this subject interest me? How do I generally excel at learning? Will these methods help me to achieve the best results? WHat are my goals that I am setting? How do I best accomplish these goals?

All prices are negotiable for lessons, although the general price for lessons range from $20-$50 per hour depending on the methods required and the needs of the student. If there are any concerns or issues with payment, that will be addressed prior to lessons so there will be no complications.
