About Isabelle

Hi! My name is Isabelle Leon, I'm a recent graduate of California Lutheran University. I've had an endless passion for reading and writing for as long as I can remember. After my work at CLU's Writing Center as a Writing Consultant, this passion grew into a love for tutoring students.

I have had the opportunity to work with students in multiple fields of writing, such as:

Master's Thesis Paper

Personal Statements for College Applications

Medical School Applications

Resume | CV | Cover Letters

Final Papers

Research Papers

Bachelor's Capstone Papers

Brainstorming for Future Projects

and more!

I also have experience working as a Youth Development Specialist for the Boys & Girls Club, where I tutored as well as created lesson plans for students. Furthermore, I have hundreds of practicum hours practicing music therapy for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries, Autism, ADHD, and dementia.

I love being able to help individuals grow on their path to finding confidence in their writing skills. It would be a privilege to be a part of your story, too!

Visit my website at (concealed information) for more information and to book an appointment.

What I love most about the work I do is witnessing the confident a student has in their work grow. They often arrive feeling discouraged and defeated, not knowing what they're capable of. I love being able to see them excited at their improvement.

I've had an endless passion for reading and writing for as long as I can remember. After my work at CLU's Writing Center as a Writing Consultant and as a Youth Development Specialist, this passion grew into a love for tutoring students.

During my time at California Lutheran University, I worked as a Writing Consultant for The CLU Writing Center. In this position, I had the opportunity to work on Master's degree dissertations, medical school applications, personal statements, final papers, brainstorming for projects, and more.

I have also had the privilege to work as a Youth Development Specialist for the Boys & Girls Club in Seattle, Washington. In this position, I assisted in the planning and delivery of educational activities and programs for elementary-aged youth, as well as tutoring all subjects for children, including writing, math, and spelling.

I have been blessed to participate in multiple volunteer practicum positions in music therapy in Seattle, Washington in collaboration with Seattle Pacific University.

I worked at Seattle Brainworks, assisting individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) to aid in memory sequencing, emotional expression, and motor movement.

I have also worked in assisted living facilities to aid individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's to help preserve memory and motor skills.

Furthermore, I also worked with children with special needs, teaching them piano and games to build coordination, memory, and motor skills.

These experiences helped me to create lesson plans, as well as gain experience with individuals of diverse backgrounds and needs.

Typically, with a new student, I like to learn about what goals they have - do they want organization help? Would they like someone to proofread their paper? Do they have a big essay they need help getting started? Submitting college applications?

After learning their goals, I will help the student during their appointment slot to achieve these goals.

I have worked with students from a massively diverse pool. I have worked with students from about 4 years old to adults in their 60s, along with different needs, including students with learning disabilities.

I would always advise a student to look for someone who makes them feel safe and comfortable to ask questions and grow, as well as feel like they improved by the end of the session.

My most exciting client I've had recently was a graduate student looking to complete her master's thesis. I helped her with the overall review of her paper, and it was so fulfilling to see the thesis grow and be submitted to be published.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Try to think - what is the thing about this project, paper, etc. that is giving you the most worry? Is it the grammar? Getting a proper outline? The overall quality? This is what you'll be looking to work on with your tutor.
