About Samuel

I have multiple years of tutoring experience in English, Math, and SAT/ACT tutoring. I have worked with students aged 6-22 through the Priddy Learning Academy in Millburn, NJ and as a Teaching Assistant at the college level.

I am currently a Master's student studying Philosophy at Virginia Tech University. For my Bachelor's degree, I studied Computer Science at Duke University, where I graduated with a 3.8 GPA.

I enjoy helping students meet their goals and develop a passaion for their own learning.

I attended the Priddy Learning Academy in Millburn, NJ as a young child and ended up working there as a tutor during high school as a summer job.

About the lesson

I schedule an introductory call to assess the students needs, decide whether I am a good fit to help the student, and discuss the logistics of how tutoring sessions will work. I will typically ask the student to bring a sample problem that they are currently struggling with so that we can work through it together. This lets both of us see how well we will work together.

I have worked with students from the ages of 6-22 on curriculum from basic reading and writing skills all the way up to college level computer science curriculum.

Ensure that you are comfortable with your tutors communication style.

I recently had a student stay after class with me to ask about where he could find more resources on the parts of philosophy that we were discussing in class. Seeing the interest of my students makes me proud to continue teaching them.
