About Douglas
I specialize in finding creative ways to explain mathematical concepts to individuals who have difficulty understanding how math applies to the real world.
I have been teaching music (percussion) to students since 1998 and math was my next strongest subject, so I would always offer to tutor my friends children if they needed the assistance.
I have tutored a few students who were failing due to incomprehension or home life issues. They all have turned their grades around and appreciate mathematics much more.

I start by asking the student if there are any topics that they have a difficult time understanding and then I ask what their likes and dislikes are as well as if they have any hobbies or play any sports. (Fyi: sports are great for explaining math)
Mostly students with learning disabilities and students whose grades were all good except for math.
