About Valerija
Unlike some tutors, I am still a Junior in high school, so I am able to relate more to the struggles and challenges your child might face while doing their classwork.
Recently, I found myself in the need for a job and immediately turned to tutoring because of my qualifications. I am 16 years old and am on track to graduate in 2020 from the Rancho Medical Magnet Academy. I am in the top 3.5% of my class and I have an outstanding relationship with all of my teachers.
I am quite enthusiatic about school and I enjoy taking challenging classes in order to better myself. Currently, I am enrolled in 4 AP classes and will be enrolled in 5 AP classes next year. I had a 4.0 GPA last semester, I am fluent in 3 languages, but most importantly, I want to help tutor your child so they can excel in all of their classes.
I am currently a student in high school studying PreCalculus BC Honors, and we have just started our main calculus unit. We are heavily reviewing all aspects of previous math, such as Alg I & II, as well as geometry. So I am constantly refreshing my previous knowledge of math while also learning new concepts, which makes my grasp of general math more advanced than others may have to offer.

Often times, student understanding is like a puzzle; all pieces have to be there in order for a student to comprehend a subject completely. Initially, I would start off by identifying the missing piece of the problem. Sometimes, it's just a single word or line that a child misheard in class that can throw their understanding off completely. My approach would then begin through analogies and metaphors. Math is often a very mundane subject, and relating problems into real-life issues can help quite a bit. After that, it's just practice, practice, practice. The only way to get good at math is to just keep doing it, and I will be there, by your child's side, making sure they get everything correct.

I am available most of the week after 4 pm, but my sessions cannot be more than 2-3 hours long. As a result, I usually charge about $10-20 per hour.
