About Nicholas

For my last three years at UWM, I worked as a tutor for PASS, the school's tutoring program. I tutored physics and math for classes at UWM. I've also had several students ask me for private tutoring for other classes and standardized tests such as MCAT and DAT.

I have always thought that I have a way better job than any of my friends because I actually love going to work! I get to meet lots of students of different ages and backgrounds, then I get to watch them grow as they become more successful and more confident. While working at PASS, I received tutor training every week and earned tutor certification. Finally, I've tutored more than 100 students and have hundreds of hours of experience.

I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, so I have a very deep mathematical understanding. Also, I've tutored high school and college algebra as well as calculus.

I have a bachelor's degree in physics and I've been a supplemental instruction leader at PASS for 4 semesters. Thus, I've been sitting in on physics lectures for 4 different semesters, I've done thousands of physics and math problems with students, and I know which topics students tend to struggle with. I also spent 2 years as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in math. Finally, I know how to help students understand every topic covered in physics 1 and 2.

I have flexible hours and can drive wherever is required. My students consistently improve their grades and build confidence in math and physics.

About the lesson

I work through some problems with students and make sure they understand the math or physics behind the problem as well as practice how to do the problem. From my experience, I found that most students get stuck on a concept and they fall behind the class, but they can catch up by going back and learning that concept they got stuck on.
