About Jamie

I am an experienced elementary school teacher, having taught Kindergarten, First, Second, and Fourth Grades. I have taught primarly in international schools in China, and Russia. Which has led me to working with students from different backgrounds from all over the world. I have experience with both the Biritish National Curriculum and the Common Core State Standards. I am currently earning my Master's degree in Educational Technology with a focus on indivdualized education.

I love teaching all subjects, but especially math and language arts. I have recently had a blog published by an educational publishing company which you can find here (concealed information)

I started my teaching career as a tutor and a substitute teacher in Orlando, Florida. I then continued my teaching career as an English teacher at a training center to for young learners. Then moved full time to a classroom teaching Kindergarten. I have since taught other grades.

I have been working as a teacher full time for the past 9 years.

About the lesson

First it is important to get to know each student as an individual. You need to know your students and their likes and dislikes, and more about them as a person to be best able to connect with them and provide targeted instruction to them.

I have worked with many different students from age 3-17.

Find someone who understands you as a person. If your tutor can not make a pesonal connection with you or your learning style then they are not the right teacher for you.

During the COVID-19 outbreak I have been spending time at my family's lake house getting to go kayaking, swimming and boating. I have also really enjoyed continuing to teach my students who are based in China while watching the sunset over the lake.
