About Kai
Hey, I'm Kai (he/him), a high school graduate from Seattle who is currently taking a gap year before college. If you're seeking out help with anything math-related, look no further! As a math enthusiast and passionate teacher, I'll help you conquer whatever it is you're working toward, whether it's studying for a specific test, getting help with homework, or general improvement. Below I'll list some of my qualifications.
- Score of 800 on the SAT Math section
- Score of 36 on the ACT Math section
- 4.0 GPA
- National Merit Finalist
- National Champion for the 2021 national MathCON mathematics competition.
- USA Mathematical Talent Search Gold Prize Winner (2020-21)
- 3rd place individual in Washington at the Math Is Cool Championships
- I have taken classes all the way up to multivariable calculus (the class after AP Calc BC)
I love math, and I love teaching! Lucky for you and me, it's easy to combine those two :) It's always so wonderful to see students uncover their hidden mathematical talent, and I can't wait to see what we accomplish together!
I founded a Math Club at my middle school (and another Math Club in high school). I prepared and hosted weekly meetings where I would teach the members about interesting math topics. A lot of these were related to competition math; however, all of it centered around teaching (and learning) math.
During high school, I was president of the Math Club for which I organized weekly meetings and presentations about various math topics. Moreover, over the summer of 2020, I taught a free online math class to around 15 high school students. I prepared all of the content and homework for that class, which consisted of 26 ninety-minute lessons.
Also, I am experienced in all subject matters from Algebra I through AP Calculus (but excluding AP Statistics).
Random Bonus Fact: I'm a seasonal (trained) ski instructor. This isn't math-related per se; however, it is teaching related, and I love teaching ;)

It's a very simple process.
Step 1: I figure out what you need.
Step 2: I fulfill that need.
I'm very flexible in terms of how we'll learn together, so we'll simply explore and see what works.
Mostly middle and high school students (ages 13-18). I'll work with anybody as long as they're willing to learn!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do I want out of tutoring? Am I looking for general improvement? Is there a specific test I want to ace? What's my availability?

Perfect! Kai is very patient, professional, and personable. He spent extra time with me to make sure I really understood what I was learning. Was available through texts when I needed him to answer quick questions. He is very smart and knowledgeable and helped me pass my class! I highly recommended him.
