About Emily
I am a former theater teacher with a passion for kids and helping them reach their goals. I have a Bachelors Degree in Musical Theatre, and a MFA in Acting and Directing. I taught for Missoula Children's Theatre for 2 years, working with ages 5-18. I also have acted professionally in New York, Missouri and Texas. My most recent positions include teaching Drama at Austin Community College and working as Student Recruiter for Hallmark University in San Antonio, TX.
As an actor, I have done quite a bit of educational theatre and part of my MFA training was teaching. I fell in love with it and have done some form of teaching for the past 5 years.
I have a BA in Musical Theatre and an MFA in Acting and Directing. I taught K-12 students theatre all around the country and world with Missoula Children's Theatre for 2 years. I was also an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Austin Community College.

I evaluate where they are currently, what their goals are and then, together, we come up with a plan that will work best for them.
I have worked with every type of student! In my time with Missoula Children's Theatre, I worked with over 2000 K-12 students all around the country and world. I have also taught college students and Dual Credit classes with high school students.
I would tell the student to ensure that the teacher understands their needs, and is willing to work with the student in the way that is best for them! No child learns the same, so it's important that the vibe between the student and teacher is positive and encouraging.
Before COVID 19, I was recruiting at different high schools around central Texas. I had an event at a small high school close by, and I loved getting to speak and present to the students and help them figure out their future.
