I am a certified teacher who has been working with children in different capacities for 20 years. My passion is helping students who are struggling with basic reading skills so they can become more confident readers. I have experience with children who have special needs such as high functioning autism and ADHD and I also have experience with ESL (English As A Second Language) students. ( However I work with everyone)

I love to see children learn and grow and become more confident and independent individuals. I believe every child can succeed if we meet them where they are at and provide consistent encouragement and guidance.

I have worked as a teacher’ aide, but I just got hired as a Special Education teacher and I’m excited about that!

I received my elementary education degree in 2001. I also have a TESOL certificate to work with ESL students.

About the lesson

In the introductory session I will first assess what their reading level is by having them read different words as well as short passages. I will also assess their phonics skills.

In the following sessions I will bring level appropriate stories, worksheets and visuals to engage in their learning as well as help them with their homework.

I have worked with children in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade but I tutor Kindergarten through 4th grade as that is my niche. I have worked with children at all levels and with different needs such as children in Special Education classes as well as students with English as a Second Language (ESL).

My introductory session where you can decide if this is a good fit for your child, is $15 for 45 minutes. Each session after that is $35 for 45 minutes.
