About Joe
I am a PhD student at the University of Nottingham, specialising in regenerative medicine. My research focuses on medical interventions that aim to slow down, and potentially even reverse, aspects of the ageing process.
I have a strong academic background, holding a Master of Research degree in Physics and a First-Class Master’s degree in Regenerative Medicine. I founded my tutoring business five years ago and have since supported students in building confidence, improving their understanding and achieving stronger academic results.
My combination of advanced scientific training and teaching experience allows me to explain complex concepts clearly, while providing structured, personalised and supportive tuition.

I take a relaxed, open, and student-centred approach to teaching. I believe students learn best in an environment where they feel comfortable, especially if they have previously found a subject stressful or anxiety-inducing.
I genuinely believe there is no such thing as a stupid question, and I actively encourage my students to stop me whenever something does not make sense. This helps ensure that gaps in understanding are addressed immediately, rather than being allowed to build up over time.
My teaching style is highly adaptable, as every student learns differently. I use a wide range of techniques, including visual explanations, auditory learning, memory strategies, deductive reasoning, exam-style practice and tailored step-by-step guidance. The approach always depends on what works best for the individual student.

Perfect! Joe is very knowledgeable and has many resources at his fingertips. My daughter enjoys her lessons with him, and he is able to answer all her questions. He clearly knows what he is doing, and is familiar with the exam board content. He's a gem!

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I really recommend Joe as he makes chemistry fun with his humor while still providing great explanations!
Joe is very reliable and flexible in dealing with arrangements for tutoring sessions. He has really helped my son with his A Level biology studies.
Joe is a brilliant tutor who always gives 100% effort in the sessions. His knowledge in all areas of science means we can easily switch between topics in the sessions and that there is a lot of background knowledge for each topic we cover. Joe’s range of knowledge means that any assignment/exam that I need support with is approached in a more in-depth way. Support is given effortlessly, whether it’s for my biology or chemistry sessions. Joe is very flexible with scheduling of sessions which is very helpful! I highly recommend!
Joe is a very experienced Physics teacher, he’s helped me with most of the A-Level topics all questions are explained in depth until I have completely understood them, he has really helped me with my progress in phyiscs-at the start of the year I was predicted C, since then it’s increased by 2 grades to an A- that is in the space of 3 months! Any problems or difficulties with questions he’s always opened to help beyond tutoring times, highly recommended.
Joe is a very optimistic teacher, who has helped me a lot with the understanding of the course. He has explained hard concepts with a lot of ease and has used memorable analogies to help with the process. He is also very accessible through out the week, which is very helpful as you don't have to wait for your timed lesson, if you need help. He has also helped me with my exam skills, and I'm now feeling a lot more confident answering the multiple step questions, than I used to.
My son was struggling with his Physics A-Level and achieved a D in his mock which was well below expectation. Joe in just 7 weeks got him back to his predicted grade which enabled my son to get his university choice. Joe is patient and gets the best out of your child. My son always looked forward to the lessons and learnt so much
Joe is really clear and connects well with our son. He presents his lessons in a different way to school that gives time to actually think about the subject. He has supported my son through his gcse revision and his grades are moving up.
Great tutor, very knowledgeable, friendly and flexible.
We reached out to joe to help our son with science and he and joe have built up a brilliant rapour and he is now really grasping the subjects having struggled at school and looks forward to his online lessons. We would have no problem in recommending Joe
I was stuck trying to get around how to draw on this program. I watched videos but it stil diddnt answer my questions. Joe was straight forward and helped me get started now im coming along thanks joe.
Joe is a great guy.
He has taught me numerous things in the past, there's almost nothing this guy doesn't know at least a little bit about. He helped me understand how computers work, even fixed a few things for me too. He still is teaching me and helping me progress towards my future career.
He is polite and looks for different ways to improve his vast knowledge. Definitely someone to turn to if you ever need help. Thanks again. In all honesty I wouldn’t of ever got through my foundation degree if it wasn’t for Joes help during my final year of my mathematics module. He explained the topics I was stuck with in full detail and thoroughly supported me until I fully understood the material. Still now he checks in and offers his help as I finish my final two years of my BEng in Electronics engineering.
Cant praise Joe enough, lovely lad & a brilliant tutor.I’ve had the pleasure of being taught by Joe a couple times now & I can’t reccomend him enough. He is approachable, he listens & he simplifies topics down to a point where anybody could understand them. He is the first person I contact when something is bothering me regarding mathematics. Not only a brilliant tutor but a lovely down to earth lad.
