About Olivia

I am an experienced and passionate tutor based in Melbourne, with a 98.85 ATAR and a strong academic background in Physics, Mathematics, and Economics. I graduated high school as the dux of Politics, Economics, Physics, and Specialist Mathematics, and I’m currently completing my Honors year in Physics at Monash University, focusing on nanophotonics research. I completed my undergraduate degree at the Australian National University with a WAM of 80+, majoring in Physics and minoring in Mathematics, with a specialization in Advanced Physics. I also received a WACE Certificate of Distinction and was awarded dux in four subjects in high school. As a woman in STEM, I’m deeply committed to supporting and inspiring young women pursuing science and mathematics. I understand the challenges that female students in STEM can face, both academically and socially, and I strive to create a safe, encouraging environment where they feel empowered to ask questions, challenge themselves, and build the confidence they need to succeed. I aim to show my students that STEM is for everyone, and I’m passionate about helping them see their potential in these fields.

About the lesson

With six years of tutoring experience, I’ve worked with students from primary school to university level, tailoring my approach to each individual’s learning style. I believe that true learning comes from understanding, not rote memorisation. My focus is on building a strong foundation of comprehension before tackling practice questions, helping students to develop problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in science and mathematics.
