About Joanna

Here is a small description of my practice:

Joanna Blémont is an illustrator and painter based in Edinburgh. With the use of sequential frames, she depicts issues through multiple lenses.

In her personal practice, Joanna explores uncanny environments based on memories, dreams and collected photographs. Natural forms and built environments ambiguously intertwine, immersing the viewer in the language of dreams.

Within her partially figurative scenes, details pointing to a specific time or place are subtracted and the image is shared through a collective lens.

About the lesson

I'm currently working as a freelance illustrator. I mostly work with watercolours and inks. I have experience with riso printing and acrylic painting as well.

I'll teach you to develop a sharp eye when drawing from life and later translate this into your own ideas.

Lessons last from 1 hr to 1.30 hrs.

I hold a BA in Fine Drawing from ENSAV La Cambre and an MA from the Edinburgh College of Arts.

I currently work with children one on one and in small groups (I have a background check at hand if needed) and also have experience working with adults one on one. I really enjoy helping people and working together towards reaching their goals!
