About Taylor

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Exceptional Needs Education and hold a dual teaching license in Early Childhood Education and Exceptional Needs Education for Pre-K through 3rd grade.

I have five years of experience teaching kindergarten, where I developed a strong understanding of early childhood development, foundational academic skills, and the individual needs of young learners. I also spent one year providing reading intervention to kindergarten students, working with children who needed additional support building their early literacy skills.

My classroom experience has given me the ability to recognize where a student is academically, identify areas that need strengthening, and adjust instruction to meet their individual learning needs. I am especially passionate about early reading and helping students build strong foundational skills in a way that is encouraging, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.

I bring both professional teaching experience and a genuine passion for helping children learn and grow. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and building confidence in their abilities.

About the lesson

I’m a patient, encouraging, and dependable tutor who genuinely enjoys helping young learners build confidence and develop a strong foundation for future success. I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable, supported, and engaged, so I tailor each lesson to their individual learning style, developmental level, and needs.

I have a strong interest in early literacy and enjoy helping children develop essential reading and language skills. I can support learners with letter recognition, letter sounds, phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, sight words, beginning reading, spelling, handwriting, and reading comprehension. I use age-appropriate activities, repetition, games, stories, and hands-on practice to make learning enjoyable and meaningful.

When teaching early childhood learners, I focus on creating a positive and encouraging environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again. I break skills down into simple, manageable steps and use clear instructions, modeling, visual supports, and guided practice to help children understand new concepts. I also understand the importance of patience, flexibility, positive reinforcement, and keeping young learners engaged throughout each lesson.

Whether a child needs extra support, is strengthening foundational skills, or is preparing for the next stage of learning, I will meet them where they are and work at a pace that helps them succeed. My goal is not only to help children learn the correct answers, but also to help them become more confident, independent, and excited about learning.
