About Michael
I have a first class degree in mathematics and statistics from the University of Edinburgh as well as experience of teaching maths to primary school classes and private lessons to a handful of high school students. Additionally, I took the module "Mathematical Education" at University, allowing me further insight into different methodologies of teaching and different ways individuals can learn.

For my teaching method, I try to aim for a more relational understanding of concepts so that learners understand why they are doing what is being taught, rather than just following and memorizing steps. I also try my best to make sure that every learner does not feel anxious or nervous in any way and that there is no such thing as a silly question. If a learner is struggling to understanding something I will patiently and encouragingly slow down and take it back to the foundational understanding and build from there, as many times as it takes.

Perfect! I approached Michael when I needed urgent help with practice questions on the lead up to the exam day. He was incredibly helpful in clarifying certain topics which i was struggling in, in a way that was much easier to understand and made more sense. He is very friendly, responsive and always happy to help. I'd highly recommend him !
