About Rachel

Hi! I’m a college student studying Elementary Education (K–6), and I have a real passion for helping kids grow in their reading and writing skills. I love working one-on-one with students and creating lessons that are not only helpful, but also fun and engaging.
I understand that every child learns differently, so I take the time to get to know each student and tailor my lessons to fit their needs. My goal is to help students feel more confident in themselves while improving their skills at the same time.
I’m patient, reliable, and truly care about helping each student succeed. I also believe that learning should be a positive experience, so I always try to create a comfortable environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn.
As I continue working toward my degree and building my own tutoring business, I am committed to providing personalized, high-quality support that makes a real difference for both students and their families.

About the lesson

I take a hands-on, student-centered approach to teaching K–6 reading and writing. I believe every child learns differently, so I focus on one-on-one instruction that is personalized to each student’s strengths, interests, and learning style. My goal is not just to help students improve academically, but to build their confidence and help them enjoy learning.
I use engaging strategies like creative writing prompts, interactive reading activities, and guided practice to keep students involved and motivated. I also break down skills into manageable steps so students don’t feel overwhelmed and can experience success early on.

What makes me different is my focus on creativity and confidence-building. I don’t just teach skills—I help students feel proud of their progress. As a college student working toward building my own tutoring business, I bring energy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children grow.
I also prioritize building a strong connection with each student, creating a comfortable environment where they feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace.

My lessons are designed for:
K–6 students
Students who need help with reading, writing, or both
Children who may be struggling, lacking confidence, or need extra support
Students who want to improve skills, get ahead, or become stronger readers and writers
I work well with students who benefit from individual attention, creative learning, and a supportive, encouraging environment.
