About Sandra
My flexible, friendly approach and natural aptitude to quickly see what each person understands and does not understand has allowed me to restore many pupils’ confidence to access and keep up with the demands of the curriculum. When working with particularly anxious pupils, I start by covering basic skills to give them a chance to regain their own belief in their general ability to complete maths tasks successfully. Each pupil is different and getting to know them as an individual is often key in working out a successful approach; it is important for me to know the full extent of their difficulties as well as what motivates them to help them effectively on their journey.

Are you an adult needing to retake your maths GCSE for your career?
Whatever your situation, I can help you. I am passionate about enabling everyone to succeed in maths. Over the past 20 years, I have taught a range of subjects to all ages from toddlers to pensioners but for the last 9 years, I have been focussing on primary and secondary school pupils and achieved great success at identifying issues and helping to solve them. Whilst I have also enjoyed teaching some higher-ability pupils, I have mostly worked with young people who found maths challenging for a variety of reasons; I have seen first-hand how many adults, teens and children’s difficulties in maths affect their general confidence and self-worth and can cause deep levels of anxiety.
