About Michael
I’m a recent Rice University graduate with a degree in Biosciences, concentrating in cellular biology and genetics. Over the past several years, I’ve built a strong foundation in the biological sciences through rigorous coursework and hands-on laboratory experience. I was a member of a stem cell research lab for nearly two years and have worked in several other biology labs, so I understand the material in textbooks as well as how it’s applied in real research.
As a pre-med student, I know how demanding biology courses can be and how much a strong foundation matters for what comes next. That’s why I’m passionate about helping students who need support, whether they’re building confidence in a difficult subject or aiming for top marks.
Patience and commitment are at the center of how I teach. Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to your goals, your pace, and your learning style. I’ll meet you where you are and stay with you until the material clicks.
I’d love to help you succeed. Send me a message to get started!

Biology is my specialty. Whether you need help with general biology, ecology, molecular biology, genetics, or something in between, I have a lesson plan for you.
Research shows that one of the most efficient ways to master a subject is through active problem solving, so my teaching method centers on practice problems. We’ll begin with a short assessment of your biology knowledge to identify gaps, then build from there. Each lesson combines core concept review with practice problems woven in at key moments. I’ll guide you where needed and reinforce the most important ideas, but we won’t spend precious lesson time on lengthy content review.
Practice. Practice. Practice. That’s my motto.
Whether you’re a middle school, high school, or university student, we’ll use this approach with the difficulty adjusted to your starting point, so you’re always challenged but never lost.
