About Dhovie Mae

I am a passionate self-taught artist and experienced art tutor who believes that anyone can develop their artistic skills with the right guidance, practice, and encouragement. My journey as an artist has been built through years of hands-on experience, continuous learning, creating artworks, and participating in various art exhibitions and creative communities. I have experience working with different art materials and techniques, including drawing, sketching, shading, painting, color theory, and creative art projects. As a tutor, I create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students can feel comfortable expressing themselves, making mistakes, and developing their own artistic style. Whether you are a beginner or simply looking to improve your skills, I will guide you step by step while helping you build confidence and enjoy the creative process.

About the lesson

My approach as an art tutor focuses on teaching the fundamentals of art and helping students gradually develop their skills through practice, patience, and creativity. I teach activities such as basic drawing and sketching, line and shape exercises, proportions, shading and value studies, color theory, painting techniques, still-life drawing, and simple creative projects. A typical lesson begins with learning about art history, understanding the basics and materials, followed by demonstrations and guided practice on how to properly execute different techniques. I also encourage students to experiment with different materials and develop their own artistic style over time. What sets me apart is that although I did not have a formal degree in art, I became a self-taught artist through personal experience, continuous practice, and participation in different art exhibitions. I enjoy sharing practical knowledge from my own artistic journey. My lessons are suitable for kids, teens, and adults who are interested in learning, exploring, and improving their artistic abilities.
