About Max
I have recently finished my A levels achieving A* grades in Economics, Maths, and Media Studies, alongside strong GCSE results. Having gone through the exam system myself recently, I understand the challenges students face—especially to do with balancing content knowledge and exam technique.
Alongside academics, I’ve also studied piano to diploma standard, which has developed my discipline, patience, and attention to detail.
I’m interested in tutoring because I know how much of a difference clear explanation and the right approach can make. In my studies, I struggled to find these, and aim to make sure that this can be prevented from happening to others going down the same path.
I enjoy helping others build confidence in subjects they may find difficult, and aim to make lessons fun, supportive, and genuinely useful for improving grades.

My approach to tutoring is directed towards clarity, structure, and performance, as well as growing in a comfortable and confident environment.
I aim to break down complicated ideas into simple, understandable threads, before building students up to exam-standard answers.
Having recently achieved top grades myself (A stars in Economics, Media and Maths), I understand both the content and the techniques needed for succeeding under exam conditions.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though I can adapt this depending on the student's needs. Lessons are structured but flexible, starting with a quick review, then focused teaching, and ending with practice, feedback and recap.
While at an early stage in my tutoring journey, my recent academic experience allows me to relate closely to students, and explain concepts as I would have liked to receive them most.
I also bring strong communication and development skills from my proficiency in Piano - which I play to a Diploma 2/3 standard, and having studied for many years at the Royal Academy of Music, I am willing to provide lessons in piano as well.
My lessons are suited for all ages of students, including those studying for their GCSEs and A levels, as well as Primary school students studying for their SATs.
With 5 years experience working with young people aged 3-13, I can confidently provide academic support to all ages.
