About Erin
I am a lifelong learner with a commitment to educating youth. I am a licensed teacher in the state of Arkansas working to get my Master's of Science in Education in Gifted, Talented, and Creative. I am currently an ELA and Literacy Lab teacher for 7th grade, working in a Title 1 district. I am familiar with scaffolding lesson plans to accommodate individuals, working in small groups or 1-on-1 to focus on weaknesses, and working on basic English conventions and acquisition with my students who are English Language Learners. I am very patient and will go over the same topic, approaching it from new angles, until it 'clicks' for my student. I have also received training in preparation for standardized testing, was an SAT/ACT prep tutor, and can equip you with confidence for anything you might be getting ready to accomplish.

I love project-based learning & playing games to remember facts, ideas, words, etc. I have experience in lesson planning for grades 6-12, but I can also assist in college-level English, reading, or writing classes. In my Literacy Lab, we read stories and learn how to write effective summaries. In my ELA classes, we have been focusing on writing paragraphs/essays & ELA conventions - though I am capable for planning more accelerated English lessons and activities. Overall, I try to make learning fun and engaging, as I know some ELA assignments can be very abstract and difficult to understand. I also have experience in scaffolding content for lower-level learners or those who may be affected by a learning disability.
