About Jacob

When I was first taught long multiplication in elementary school we were told to show our work and to not use a calculator. There were two students who didn't show their work, I was one of them, and the other was caught with a calculator in his desk. I was told to do some long multiplication problems on the board, I looked at them for a bit, did the math in my head and only wrote down the answers on the board. The teacher was surprised that I could do that, while I at first didn't understand how no one else in the classroom could do this. In middle school and high school I had tutored younger students, typically on the subject of math. I was so good that the parents who hired me would often tell me that their son or daughter's learning had improved so much that they don't need to keep me employed.

About the lesson

Math may not come to you as naturally and as easily as it has for me, but I have always been able to convey the logic and concepts in a way that anyone can understand. It doesn't do students any good to force their way through rote memorization as you will only forget after the test, but rather to help you understand the reasoning behind everything for better comprehension. I can teach anything from basic early arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, to pre-calculus, calculus, statistics, probability, or a general college-prep.
