About Zara
My journey with the guitar began through exploring multiple musical styles, which inspired me to pursue formal training in music. I earned a B.Mus in Guitar Studies followed by an M.Mus in Performance Practice, gaining both technical mastery and pedagogical insight. Over 9 years of teaching, I have worked with students of various ages and abilities, guiding them toward confident and expressive playing. I believe effective teaching combines structure with encouragement. I adapt lessons to each student’s learning style and musical goals, emphasizing clarity, healthy technique, and thoughtful practice habits. I strive to create an environment where students feel motivated, supported, and excited to learn. Outside teaching, I remain active in performance, collaboration, and ongoing musical study. Teaching guitar is deeply rewarding because I see students transform effort into expressive music, gaining confidence that extends beyond the instrument.

Guitar lessons are most effective when students understand how technique, rhythm, and musical expression work together. My lessons focus on posture, hand coordination, chord transitions, scale fluency, rhythm accuracy, and stylistic interpretation. I help learners connect physical movement with sound production, allowing them to play more comfortably and confidently. Each lesson is carefully structured to balance technical development with creativity, ensuring steady progress without pressure.
Beginner students develop foundational skills through basic chords, strumming patterns, finger placement, and simple melodies. Intermediate learners explore scales, fingerstyle techniques, improvisation, and genre-based playing. Advanced students focus on refined tone control, advanced repertoire, performance preparation, and expressive interpretation. Guided practice, demonstrations, and detailed feedback are integrated into every session to support growth.
Guitar lessons also strengthen concentration, discipline, and creative problem-solving. Students learn to listen critically, interpret music independently, and perform with assurance. My goal is to help learners enjoy the guitar while building skills that support long-term musical confidence and artistic expression.
