About Nadia

Hello! I'm Nadia, a licensed teacher and experienced tutor with a Master of Education in Teaching and Curriculum from Harvard University. I have 13 years of experience helping students from elementary through high school excel in the classroom and on standardized tests.

I’ve taught at international schools in South Korea, worked with students across the U.S., and volunteered with North Korean refugees. As a Brooklyn Tech graduate, I’m especially familiar with the SHSAT and have helped students gain admission to New York City’s top specialized high schools. I also have experience tutoring the SAT through Kaplan and scored in the 98th percentile on the GRE and 85th percentile on the LSAT.

In addition to test prep, I provide academic support and homework help in English, math (arithmetic through algebra), and history. I’m a licensed history teacher with classroom experience and a strong track record of helping students grow in both skills and confidence.

About the lesson

Each lesson is tailored to your child’s needs and learning style. In our first session, I’ll take time to understand your goals and evaluate how best to support your child. Whether you’re seeking ongoing academic support or focused test preparation, I will create a structured plan to help your child progress with clarity and confidence.

I provide:
* Test prep for the ISEE, SHSAT, and PSAT
* Homework help and tutoring in English, math (arithmetic through algebra), and history

I’m known for my calm, patient approach and for explaining concepts clearly—making even challenging material accessible and manageable. You can feel confident knowing your child is in capable, caring hands.

(Please note: 1-hour lessons are 55 minutes to allow time for my next class. I appreciate your understanding.)

Perfect! We asked Nadia to tutor our daughter for an exam that was coming up within a week. She was excellent. Very detailed, diligent and open to feedback. She taught the content and the strategy. My daughter tended to do problems in her head and Nadia encouraged her to communicate and work through them so she could see where there were gaps and correct them. Highly recommend.
