About Pearl
I received my bachelor's degree in business management from a fashion school in NYC. During my undergraduate education, I worked as an editorial director for a magazine, writing center tutor, and teaching assistant for international student literacy courses and journalism courses. After college, I spent a year as a student success coach for 3rd and 4th graders in Detroit Public Schools. Mid-pandemic, I moved to Baltimore to obtain my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Johns Hopkins and spent the past 2 years teaching 2nd grade at Baltimore City Public Charter Schools. I've decided to pause my in-classroom teaching career and focus on working with students in a one-on-one capacity. If you choose me as your tutor, I will ensure that we will build a strong relationship and achieve academic growth-- all I ask of you is that you always try your best!

My teaching method includes utilizing engaging activities, building critical thinking skills, and promoting creativity.
My typical lesson plans will include a gradual release of modeling, collaborating, and then independent practicing.
I love working with kids and want them to do the best that they can in order to succeed in life. As a teacher, I am honest, flexible, patient, and empathetic. Additionally I have access to numerous curriculum materials and educational activities.
My lessons are geared to elementary students in 1st through 5th grade.
