About Caprice

I have had many teaching experiences. In high school, I was a math tutor and a beginning piano teacher. I later became a CPR instructor. While teaching, I try to meet my students where they're at and go from there, helping them improve the areas that they struggle most in. As someone with a degree in Mathematics, I too know what it is like to be confused on difficult problems that I have to ask others to help me with. My goal is to help students develop confidence in their abilities and help them understand that even if they don't understand the material at first, they can successfully learn it at their own pace.

About the lesson

I like to start by asking my students what they would most like to work on and what they feel they're struggling the most on, and then start by focusing on those. I typically walk the student through a problem first, and then have them try another on their own, prompting them when they get stuck. I then go over the problem with them and point out what step they seemed to struggle the most on and give them help them figure out how to recognize what to do when they get to that point in future problems.

I am most comfortable teaching elementary through high school students.
