About Dr Simon
DBS-Enhanced private tutor with 20 years of experience teaching English language and literature for school students in person and online, in universities, adult education colleges, further education colleges. I have four degrees in English literature, including my PhD (2022) from Royal Holloway. I am diligent and compassionate, and care deeply about my subject, students, and fellow teachers and academics, tailoring my classes to suit the needs to my students in state or private education, with and without SEN needs. Experience across syllabuses: AQA, OCR, Eduqas. A published poet, I have built my life around a love of English language and literature. I like to teach my students you are what you read. I'm hard-working and approachable, enjoying a lively classroom, with a good mixture of fun, laughter, and serious learning, where the aims are objectives are clear, and we work toward them together.
