About Chloe

17-year-old, aspiring English teacher. I have extensive knowledge in English and am an AP literature student. I plan to pursue a degree in English at Appalachian State University after I finish my associate's degree. I am also currently taking classes with my community college on top of AP and my regular high school classes.

I read and write extensively in my free time and have written many essays for my AP and college classes. I am also senior editor for my high school's yearbook, so I am knowledgeable on how to catch a reader's attention easily. Knowing how to do that is imperative when writing stories for our pages. I'm very good with grammar, punctuation, diction, and comprehension.

About the lesson

Hi, my name is Chloe. I'm seventeen years old and have always had a deep passion for reading and writing. I've been in advanced placement English classes my whole life and I have impeccable grammar and writing skills. During quarantine, to keep my reading and writing skills up, I role-played a lot online and wrote tons of fan fiction and personal non-fiction. Currently, I'm an AP Literature student with a love for writers like Sylvia Plath. I am currently the senior editor for my high school's yearbook and it's something I spend a lot of my time working on. In yearbook, we have to take the time to make sure that what we write on our pages is not only professional, but also grammatically correct. I have three years of experience in yearbook, two of which I have been a head editor. I also have extensive knowledge in the field of photography and graphic design.

I can tutor English on a middle school to late high school level. I'm capable of teaching you how to write a strong thesis, how to capture a reader's attention immediately, how to strengthen your grammar and comprehension skills.

Typically, my lesson plan is to start off with proofreading some of your essays/writing works in general. I would like to get a grasp as to what level of reading and writing you are on so I can guide you in the right direction. From there, I can tell you how you can improve your grammar and diction, and I can provide feedback on how to make your essays more interesting. The main thing about improving your writing skills is reading more in your free time! I'm open to recommending books to you if you'd like to hop on that train. I'm an avid reader and I have over 500 books in my room, so I'm sure I have something that's perfect for you!

What sets me apart from other tutors is that I genuinely care about improving your skills as a writer, not only academically but creatively. Seeing the world fall into the hands of Artificial Intelligence deeply hurts me. I see people my age barely being able to hold their attention on a novel and write essays or do assignments without AI. I want you to embrace your true God-given creativity, because I know that we all have some semblance of it! I'm an aspiring English teacher that genuinely wants to better our society as a whole :)
