About Mahdi

Hi! I am Mahdi, and I am a student at a selective entry high school in the east of Melbourne. I tutor because I have a passion for helping others, along with the patience and kindness required to ensure that all students feel safe and welcome while also learning what is truly important. My priority when tutoring is for students to learn their material as best they can, as well as they can, in as little time as possible.
I also do selective entry/scholarship exam tutoring for both Edutest and Acer formats, with a focus on reading comprehension and writing.
I am new to tutoring, but I am sure of my capabilities and my strategies of teaching due to previous successes.

About the lesson

New to tutoring, aiming to be a cheap yet still quality option for early primary school students (3-10 years), especially those struggling with the foundations of English.
Lesson length varies to student need, but typically would be 45 minutes to one hour.
I avoid the usage of sight words in teaching, instead opting for methods that use students knowledge of phonetics. This is useful for students struggling with learning disabilities such as dyslexia more than a neurotypical student.
