About Reginald

Hi! I am a very well-travelled educator who has worked all over the world!

I am a researcher, lecturer/teacher, curriculum developer and teacher trainer who has taught in Africa, Hong Kong, Korea, Middle East, Canada, Malaysia and Brunei. I have an MA in ELT (TESOL/TEFL) from University of East London, and Applied Linguistics University of Leicester, BEd and BA in Literature (honors), Saint Mary’s University, Canada. As you can tell, I am a dedicated instructor who loves his profession and specializes in teaching speaking (through focusing on phonological awareness).

My approach to teaching was developed through years of research, and conducting workshops and piloting courses in speaking/pronunciation to degree students, postgraduates and lecturers who speak English as a second language. I believe all students have individual needs and learning styles, and that it's important for hte curriculum to be tailored to fit particular needs. Lessons with me are guaranteed to be stimulating, interesting and fun!

About the lesson

My flexible approach suits the needs of all students. I use a variety of teaching approaches, mostly based on the communicative approach philosophy, while relying strongly on my vast experience as an educator, working in different cultures, which allows me to make adjustments to suit the pedagogical situation.

I am particularly excited about conducting online tutoring as I am experienced in training programs that enhance the speaking skills of speakers of English as a second language. The curriculum I have used has worked with students enrolled in university degrees and post-graduate programs, as well as lecturers. It focuses on key phonological elements combined with an appropriate workbook, and practice-speaking software for training activities and homework. By refining your speaking skills with me, you will greatly enhance your opportunities for successful careers upon graduating!

I would love to help you achieve your goals, discuss your particular needs and any questions you might have regarding online training. I conduct on-on-one lessons and sometimes small groups of 2-3 students. Additionally, I also offer advice on academic writing for shorter sessions.
