About Perdie
My name is Perdie and I have been working in secondary schools in the UK for 16 years. I originally trained as a drama teacher (and I still use a lot of drama in my work).
Then 11 years ago, I moved into teaching literacy for students aged 11-16 who struggle with their reading and writing skills.
I have a Masters degree in special educational needs and am training to become a specialist teacher and assessor for students with dyslexia. I love teaching reading and literacy to those who have struggled in the past; helping build fluency and confidence, so they can unlock learning across the curriculum.

My lessons are student centred, we will go at your pace. They are fun and creative and employ evidenced based approaches to supporting the acquisition of fluent literacy skills.
Every course will start with a thorough assessment of skills, strengths and areas for development.
I will then create a course tailored to my student needs. I use a lot of games and fun ways to drill key learning so you get loads of repetition in a fun engaging and interesting way. My goals is to build confidence and support learning, so that every student can have fluent functional literacy, no matter what their starting point.
