About Katherine
This is a new professional venture for me! I have recently graduated with a Master's degree in Contemporary History and International Politics. I love my subjects, and hope I can inspire this same enthusiasm in students, or at least help them succeed while they're studying them!
Previously, in a more informal way, I have worked with local students in my area to help them improve coursework and exam strategy, assessing specific problems they may be facing.
Additionally, in 2017, I was selected for an Internship at The Globe Ark Academy in London, working with various students from varied backgrounds!

Hello! I'm Kate!
Here's what I can offer: focusing on GCSE and A-Level students, I will help with exam answers, coursework, revision and helping develop better understanding of the topics you're studying in fun, engaging tutoring sessions.
When it comes to tutoring, my philosophy is to help students find the fun in a history, or politics. Whether it's in the intricacies of the political backdrop of an event, in analysing sources, or finding an individualised way of making sessions engaging and fun, I believe the best way to properly get a really good understanding of a topic is to enjoy the process of learning it.
Given the current circumstances, I understand teachers are really struggling to be able to give each child the amount of attention they deserve, which can be especially stressful for the students who will be sitting exams next year.
Each session will be targeted to something specific the student is struggling with, be it a long-term difficulty with understanding the causes and events of a large event, or a desire to improve a specific essay or piece of work. We'll break it down, assess exactly what it is that needs improving, and talk about methods of approaching similar issues in the future. I'll provide things to work on during the session, as well as, during summer months, helping students prepare for the continuation of the syllabus in autumn term.
