About Samuel
I am a history major finishing my bachelors at ASU. I have loved history my entire life and enjoy talking with people about it. I find that the negative perception of history stems from bad teachers talking AT students as opposed to talking WITH students. I'm here to make your life easier and give you tricks to how you can recall seemingly random information so that you can do better on tests. We will discuss history in terms that you understand so that you can do better in class. I was lucky enough to have incredible history teachers from middle school through high school. I just want to pass on some of the wisdom they gave me. I guarantee I will increase your grade by at least one letter by teaching you to memorize, analyze, and organize.

Many people find history hard to retain. I am convinced that history is all about the teacher. I've developed a three pronged lesson plan that focuses on making history less dry and more lively. Memorize, analyze, organize.
Memorize: There are some aspects that you must memorize BUT I focus on memorizing general time periods instead of certain facts. We wont sit there trying to remember the year the Ottomans attacked Vienna. Instead we will memorize the time period in which it happened and cross reference it with other historical moments.
Analyze: Learning analyzation skills is incredibly important for doing well in school. In my opinion, history is the best subject to practice this skill. We will analyze the reasons for why important historical events happened. This will give the student greater understanding and improve recall.
Organize: Once we have the facts, we will organize the data into an outline. This will help the student lay out their thoughts. This step will save hours on writing historical papers while simultaneously improving recall.
