About Judith

Hello, I’m Judith. I’m from London, and I’m a CELTA-qualified English tutor. I also have a Doctorate in Psychology and experience working in NHS mental health services.

Do you have a goal—a dream career or a course you’ve worked hard for—but your English is holding you back from getting the exam results you need? Perhaps you feel frustrated, have lost confidence, and worry you’ll never get there.

I’m sure you already have many strengths that will help you succeed. You have valuable knowledge and experience in your own field—you’re the expert in that, and I’m here to help you develop the English skills you need to achieve your goals.

I come from a mixed British and Sri Lankan background, and I enjoy learning about other cultures as well as sharing British culture with others. I also have a creative side and love art, calligraphy, food, and cats! I try to bring that same creativity into my lessons.

About the lesson

I can help you prepare for the IELTS or OET by improving your English, building your confidence, and teaching practical exam strategies. I have done further training in preparing students for IELTS and OET.

We'll identify the areas you find most challenging and focus on the skills that will make the biggest difference to your score.

I have a background in NHS mental health services. I understand the communication skills needed in healthcare. I also know how anxiety and a lack of confidence can affect communication and exam performance. My lessons are supportive and practical. I'll help you build confidence and improve your English.

In our first lesson, we'll discuss your goals, assess your current level, and create a personalised study plan so you know exactly what to focus on to achieve your target scores.

I trained with Judith during our CELTA qualification, where we taught the same groups of students and worked closely together. This gave me the opportunity to see her teaching and approach in the classroom first-hand.

Judith is a very capable ESOL teacher with strong language knowledge and a calm, supportive style. She is patient and considerate of different learning paces, and she creates a positive environment where students feel comfortable participating. Her lessons included engaging activities that students enjoyed while also achieving clear and effective learning outcomes. I would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and encouraging ESOL teacher.
