About Amit

I'm Amit, a software engineer and a 2024 graduate of IIT Roorkee in Engineering Physics. I cleared JEE Advanced 2020 with an All India Rank of 2391 (JEE Main AIR 2573). From 2020 to 2024, while studying at IIT Roorkee, I tutored 7-8 high school students in maths and physics, mostly for JEE Main and Advanced. At IIT I studied physics at depth, from mechanics and electromagnetism to quantum physics, probability and statistics. Outside class I do a lot of competitive programming (LeetCode Guardian, Codeforces Expert), which is mostly math and problem solving under time pressure. I enjoy explaining things simply and I'm patient with students who find a topic hard. I teach in English or Hindi.

About the lesson

Classes are for Class 11 and 12 students preparing for JEE Main, JEE Advanced and board exams, and for first-year college students who want a stronger base in mechanics, electromagnetism, calculus or algebra. I start each student with a short diagnostic to see where the gaps are, then we work topic by topic. A typical session is 60 to 90 minutes: we go over the concept from first principles, solve problems together that build in difficulty, and finish with a few questions for you to try on your own before the next class. I focus on why a method works, not just the shortcut, because that is what holds up when a JEE problem looks unfamiliar. I also share how I planned my own JEE preparation, including mock tests and revision. Classes are online, on weekday evenings and weekends.
