About James

I grew up in the US and attended uni for Biomedical Engineering in the University of Missouri, where I excelled as an engineering and pre-med student. I was admitted to its medical school, but opted to attend Imperial College for Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning in 2021 to pursue a data career. I have since been living in London.

About the lesson

For 6 years, I've helped countless students raise their marks significantly in STEM courses by meeting once to three times a week for one-hour sessions, as well as helping students improve their ACT/SAT scores to meet their goals. In my sessions, I encourage the student to solve problems as much as they can and I explain concepts on an as-needed basis. This has helped my students gain confidence in their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to perform well in testing scenarios. I've tutored ACT, SAT, MCAT, AP, IB, A-levels, physics, chemistry, biology, maths, programming (R/Python) at high school/secondary and uni-level but I was also a writing tutor at my undergraduate campus Writing Centre and volunteer tutor for high school students. A vast majority of my students are based in the US, but I've also tutored students from the UK and France for GCSE/IB courses. I believe my methods are easily translatable across different curriculums, as the course content is generally the same.

To prepare, I took multiple practice tests and we reviewed them together. He also gave me lots of tips about how to approach the test.
