About Ritisha
Hi! My name is Ritisha, and I am an incoming high school freshman who loves English, writing, and public speaking. As an Indian-American student who was born in India and raised in the United States, I have grown up experiencing different cultures and perspectives, which has helped me become a strong communicator and learner.
Throughout middle school, I built strong writing and communication skills through leadership positions and extracurricular activities. As President of my Drama Club, I helped write, edit and direct Shakespeare (Twelfth Night and Hamlet) scripts while leading a group of students. I also served on the San Mateo–Foster City School District Council, where I gave presentations and speeches to audiences of over 200 people.
I have also spent the past two years as a Counselor in Training at an elementary school summer camp and am currently working toward becoming an official counselor. Through this experience, I have learned how to work with younger students, be patient, and help others learn and grow.
I enjoy helping students become more confident in their reading, writing, grammar, and speaking skills. My goal is to create a positive supportive learning environment with fun interactive lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions and doing their best.

My lessons are for Pre K-3rd grade school students who need help with reading, writing, grammar, phonics, creative writing, homework, or public speaking.
In a typical lesson, we'll start by going over any homework, assignments, or topics the student wants help with. Then, we'll work through examples and practice problems together while learning strategies they can use on their own in the future. My goal is to help students understand concepts rather than just memorize answers.
Since I have gone through the California school system myself, I am familiar with California standards and many of the tools students use in class today. I have experience using Common Core curriculum as well as platforms like Khan Academy, Desmos, Zearn and Gizmos. Because I've worked with these resources throughout my education, I can help students feel more confident with their assignments and online learning tools.
