About Brooke

I am a Chemistry tutor with over 3 years of teaching experience and an MSc in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry. I specialize in analytical chemistry, working with students to develop both theoretical understanding and practical laboratory skills. Chromatography lessons focus on HPLC, GC, and TLC, teaching learners how separation works, how to interpret peaks, and how molecular properties affect retention times. Spectroscopy is another area I emphasize, guiding students through UV–Vis, IR, and NMR interpretation to extract meaningful chemical information. I also teach titrations with a focus on accuracy, endpoint detection, and minimizing experimental errors. Experimental design is a core part of my teaching, helping students plan procedures, control variables, and develop logical approaches to problem-solving. Data interpretation is an integral component, including calibration curve analysis, statistical evaluation, and error estimation. I have worked extensively with chemistry lab students and those aspiring to careers in quality assurance or research, providing mentorship in method validation, documentation, and quality control. My approach blends practical application with clear theoretical understanding, helping students become confident, analytical thinkers. Lessons encourage attention to detail, precision, and critical evaluation of results. Watching students master techniques and gain confidence in laboratory work is highly rewarding. I love sharing the joy of accurate measurement and chemical analysis, showing students the beauty and satisfaction in obtaining precise, reliable data.

The methodology emphasizes structured learning with a strong analytical focus. Key topics include macromolecules—proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids—metabolic pathways, and enzyme kinetics. Case studies help students connect theory with practical biological systems. Learners examine enzyme-substrate interactions, pathway regulation, and molecular structure-function relationships. Zoologists and botanists are provided examples relevant to their studies, improving application and understanding. Analytical review sessions identify weaknesses and reinforce comprehension. Students practice interpreting biochemical data, evaluating reactions, and predicting outcomes. Stepwise problem-solving exercises build critical thinking and logical reasoning. Personalized feedback guides learners toward academic excellence. Lessons combine theoretical understanding with practical examples, fostering both skill and confidence. Students gain mastery over complex biochemical processes and molecular interactions. The approach ensures learning is structured, meaningful, and engaging. By the end, learners achieve clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of life’s chemical processes.
