About Lucie

My own experience with school was extremely positive overall. Still, I faced challenges academically in early high school due to my poor time management and organisational skills, and a habit of overcomplicating topics for myself. This meant that to do well in my later years of school, I had to put in a significant amount of effort to improve in these areas. I implemented specific strategies such as detailed study plans and goal-setting and found ways to present information in a clear and simplified manner that I could easily understand.

This lead me to want to do tutoring so that I could share my own knowledge and experience and work with students in order to improve their study habits and strategies as I feel that during my years studying, I would have benefited from having someone teach me these ways to succeed during school.

About the lesson

My initial focus whilst tutoring is to work with students to identify specific and measurable learning goals which are based on both the student’s feedback and areas that I have observed for development. In order to accomplish these goals, I use active learning strategies; rather than relying solely on lectures, I focus on using strategies such as discussions, hands-on activities, and problem-solving exercises to engage the student and reinforce learning.

Further, I believe it is essential to provide regular feedback to my students, highlighting both areas of strength and areas for improvement. This feedback is constructive and supportive, helping the student to build confidence and improve their performance.
