About Jacksen

I am a biomedical researcher at CSUN, studying artificial intelligence and augmented reality's utility in medicine. STEM is often associated with cold, calculating logic but its ultimate goal is to help people. My education at the University of Notre Dame and Loyola University Chicago centered around bringing a humanistic approach to STEM that prioritized the perspective of the person being taught. Although STEM contains challenging material, any person can learn it. I am happy to tutor as long as needed. I am patient and my schedule is flexible. I look forward to helping anyone interested!

About the lesson

I believe in individualized, goal-oriented learning. We will analyze the syllabus, break down class expectations, discuss unique strengths and weaknesses, and create a study plan that maximizes the student's potential. Lesson plans will revolve around reinforcing material via active learning. In my experience, STEM material often feels overwhelming for students. I will teach students how to find the critical aspects of each lesson so that studying becomes manageable under challenging coursework. My ultimate goal is for the student to develop skills that prepare them for any STEM class, SAT/ACT, and college course that may come their way. Having attended a top 20 university, I offer college application advising and essay review. The medical school application cycle is incredibly complex. As medical school becomes more difficult for students to achieve every year (with 1-3% acceptance rates per medical school), preparing as soon as possible is essential. I offer advising on medical school applications and academic roadmaps beginning in high school.
