Hello! I’m Janike, and I am a dedicated and experienced educator with over 7 years of teaching English and Mathematics (Mathematical Literacy) to students from Grades 4–12. I am passionate about helping learners succeed and develop confidence in their abilities. I hold a BED Degree in education, and I specialize in creating tailored lessons that meet the needs and goals of each student. I believe every student can succeed when they are provided with the right tools, encouragement, and support. That’s why I strive to make each lesson not only educational but also engaging and enjoyable. My lessons are designed to help you build both skills and confidence. Whether you're aiming to improve your English language skills or get better at Math, I use a variety of interactive methods, including discussions, problem-solving, and real-world applications. I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans, so I can provide lessons in either language, depending on your preference. In our lessons, you can expect a supportive, patient, and organized approach. I believe in setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback, and creating a comfortable space where you can ask questions and learn at your own pace. I’ve had the privilege of working with students of various backgrounds and learning levels, and I am committed to helping you reach your academic goals—whether that’s excelling in exams, improving your grades, or gaining a deeper understanding of the subject. Hello! I’m Janike, and I’m passionate about helping students unlock their full potential. My approach to private tutoring is centered on creating a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning environment. Methodology & What Makes Me Unique: My teaching style is all about making learning fun and practical. I focus on real-world applications and use interactive methods like problem-solving, discussions, and games to keep lessons interesting and relevant. I believe that learning should be a positive experience, and I work to build students' confidence by creating a safe space where they can ask questions and make mistakes without fear of judgment. What makes me unique is my ability to connect with students on a personal level. I truly care about each learner’s success, not just academically but emotionally and socially. I’ve had the privilege of supporting many students in their personal growth, whether through raising funds for their education or simply being there to listen when they need support. What to Expect from a Typical Lesson: Each lesson with me is tailored to your needs. We will start by identifying your goals and areas for improvement, then build a learning plan that suits your pace. For example, in English lessons, you can expect to improve your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, while in Mathematics, we’ll focus on mastering key concepts with plenty of practice. I make use of a variety of teaching tools, including worksheets, videos, and interactive activities, to keep the lessons engaging and fun. My goal is to help you feel confident and motivated to succeed, and I always encourage questions and open communication.
