About Aasiyah
I bring over 13 years of teaching experience across early childhood, elementary, middle school, and high school settings. My background includes classroom teaching, special education, curriculum development, differentiated instruction, and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
I have worked as a teacher in public, private, Montessori, and international school settings, including experience with students from a wide range of cultural, academic, and learning backgrounds. I also have experience supporting students with exceptionalities, building individualized learning strategies, and helping students strengthen both academic and social-emotional skills.
In addition to my teaching background, I am a poet and spoken word artist. I have been writing poetry since childhood and performing spoken word since young adulthood. This allows me to bring both professional teaching experience and lived creative practice into my tutoring sessions. My poetry instruction is not only technical, but also soulful, expressive, and grounded in helping students write with honesty, beauty, and purpose.

My approach blends structured English instruction with creative expression, discussion, and reflective writing. Lessons are typically 60 minutes. With 13+ years teaching experience, I support children, teens, and adults at beginner to advanced levels, especially learners building confidence, voice, and skill.
My teaching style is student-centered, encouraging, and structured. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths, learning needs, and personal goals. From there, I create lessons that blend skill-building with creativity
