About Amelia

Hello! My name is Amelia Villanueva, and I’m a certified English teacher with over 30 years of classroom experience. I hold a Master of Science in Educational Technology and have spent my career helping students—from middle school to adult learners—develop strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. I believe learning should be both structured and supportive. I take the time to understand each student’s strengths and challenges, and I tailor every lesson to meet their specific needs. About the lesson

Teaching Method & Techniques I begin by identifying the student’s current level and learning goals. My lessons are interactive and supportive, using a mix of traditional strategies and digital tools to reinforce skills and maintain engagement. I incorporate visual aids, writing prompts, guided practice, and real-world examples to deepen understanding—especially in English Language Arts. Typical Lesson Plan Quick Warm-Up – A brief activity to activate prior knowledge Mini-Lesson – Clear, focused instruction on a concept (e.g., grammar, reading strategy, literary analysis) Guided Practice – Collaborative work using examples or prompts Independent Task – The student applies the skill, with feedback Reflection & Wrap-Up – A brief recap and questions, plus an optional enrichment challenge What Sets Me Apart I have taught both advanced and at-risk students and know how to adjust tone, pacing, and support accordingly. I make abstract concepts concrete through relatable examples. I infuse technology and creativity to make lessons both effective and memorable. I focus not just on academic achievement, but on building confidence and a love for learning.
