About Jason

As a tutor, my only job is to ensure that you understand something a little bit more than you did before we started. Too often there are too many kids struggling in classes due to intimidating teachers and lack of empathy for those who might take a little longer to process concepts. I understand where all of you come from, as I have been through a barrage of unreasonable teachers and university professors that seemed too smart for their own good! My goal is to give you stories and analogies that help you process all these mind-numbing topics into something that might make a little more sense for us regular folks! This is something I've always wanted when I was a student, so I'm hoping to provide a similar fun and productive learning environment for those who are struggling and need a bit of help!

About the lesson

The most difficult aspect of learning is being able to understand the message that the experts have painted for us. It can be so overwhelming and tiresome to take in information at a fast paced and advanced level, especially with teachers glancing past old topics without much review leaving kids feeling behind and inept.

I plan to bring a level of groundedness and relatability in my lessons so students feel engaged in the information they are learning, without feeling discouraged about not understanding a topic immediately or at all.

A typical lesson plan consists of first establishing where the difficulties lay with students in their work, not only regarding the content of their studies but also the teaching methods that may or may not have been so helpful for the students. Then we will tackle problems filled with plenty of analogies and real world concepts for students to actually grasp what their learning, rather than citing and memorizing difficult questions.

The lessons are for anyone throughout elementary school - high school looking for a non-intimidating tutoring environment. My qualifications include an above 3.5 gpa for a Bachelors in Mathematics and Computer Science, with capabilities of teaching any stem related subject. Looking forward to helping everyone learn :).
