About Tyler
I am a recent graduate from Rutgers University-New Brunswick with a B.A. in mathematics and philosophy and I tutored at the Plangere Writing Center at Rutgers as a lead tutor for two years.
I specialize in logic (both philosophical and mathematical), probability, statistics, expository writing, and philosophical essay writing (especially ethics, existentialism, and metaphysics). I have also tutored technical writing, algebra (1 & 2), and ESL in a collegiate setting.

I begin by clarifying any conceptual errors or gaps in a student's understanding of the current topic. Once the student feels that they understand why a certain technique or subject functions as it does, I introduce problems for the student to try. After each attempt, regardless of whether the problem is solved correctly, I request the student explain to me their reasoning and we discuss what improvements can be made in the process.

Details
My hourly rate is the same for any subject, pre-collegiate or collegiate. Upon request, I can also provide notes or practice exercises (with solutions) for an additional cost. My rate for additional materials is as follows:
1. For mathematics notes, the cost is between $5-15, depending on the volume of material and difficulty of the subject (For example, algebra is generally shorter and easier; probability is longer and harder.)
2. For logic notes, I charge a flat rate of $10 per topic (For example, deductions in predicate logic counts as one topic).
3. For worksheets (with solutions), I charge between $5-$10. A shorter worksheet will have 5-10 questions with solutions; a longer worksheet can have up to 25 questions.
