About David

Hi, I'm David! I'm an Educator with Pinellas County Schools, and I tutor math, algebra, statistics, and SPSS online or in person around Tarpon Springs.

I earned my BA in Psychology from Wayne State University, where I first used statistics and SPSS for research. I later completed my MBA at The University of Tampa, which added data analysis, finance, and business statistics to my toolkit. Since then I have used these skills in real jobs, from retail operations management to customer account work at QVC Group.

My career has also included work as a paramedic and as a case manager. Those roles taught me to stay calm, listen carefully, and explain things clearly to people who are stressed or overwhelmed. I bring that same patience to tutoring. Many students are not bad at math. They just never had it explained in a way that clicked.

Whether you are a middle schooler catching up in algebra or a college student working through a statistics course or research project, I will meet you where you are and help you build real confidence. I look forward to working with you!

About the lesson

Math makes sense when someone explains it clearly and patiently. That is my goal in every lesson.

Who the lessons are for:
- Middle and high school students working on math, algebra, and pre-calculus, from homework help to test prep
- College students in statistics, research methods, psychology, or business courses
- Students and researchers who need help running and interpreting analyses in SPSS

My approach:
I start by finding out exactly where you are and what is getting in the way. From there, I break each topic into small, clear steps and use real examples so the ideas stick. I check for understanding as we go, and you will practice problems yourself, not just watch me solve them. The goal is for you to leave each session able to do it on your own.

A typical lesson:
1. Quick review of what you are working on or struggling with
2. Clear explanation of the concept, step by step
3. Guided practice together
4. Independent practice with feedback
5. A short recap and what to work on next

What sets me apart:
I work as a substitute teacher in Pinellas County schools, so I know what students are seeing in class today. I also hold a BA in Psychology and an MBA, which means I have used statistics and SPSS myself in real coursework and business settings. I can explain not just how to get the answer, but what the numbers actually mean.
