About Nadya
I am a sixth form student, who received A* level grades in all IGCSE subjects. I have experiencing tutoring in english comprehension and creative writing. Through experience applying to competitive schools, I know the 11+/school entrance examination process can be daunting. I can give clear guidance on exam technique and learning support for primary school children in years 4-6, as they prepare for their entrance exams, for a lower price rate than most online tutors. As interviews are an important part of the 11+ process, I can also help to coach students on possible topics and 11+ interview skills. I am available to work remotely (via zoom, google meets etc.) part time; afternoons and evenings. I am also happy to travel to mutual locations, such as libraries. I can be flexible with the length and exact timings of sessions.

Schools use specific criteria to challenge candidates and place importance on assessing a student's way of thinking, rather than their ability to 'fact learn'. The two subjects tested in the 11+ are maths and english (comprehension and creative writing); some schools may include reasoning. It is really important to practice the exam technique and answer styles that allow you to apply and show off your knowledge to the examiner, as well as learning how to analyse thoroughly and problem solve. By practicing these skills and targeting areas of weakness, it is easy to build on existing knowledge and become a confident exam taker! A more laid back approach is beneficial to establishing communication and engagement. By doing past papers and going through unsure areas together in a more informal setting than school, a young student can develop their resilience and tackle challenges to reach their potential as a candidate. If a student is applying to specific schools or schools within a certain academic range, more focussed past papers can be useful. Of course, children in years 4-6 do not want to sit down to a boring lecture after school, so with all the great virtual resources, games, quizzes, practice questions and one-to-one interaction, the students can feel engaged and challenged, while being able to revisit tricky areas and work at their own pace.

Details
Happy to focus on any aspect of the 11+ within sessions. Can give short feedback to parents at the end of the session or in an email.
If a client needs to rearrange a session (and it is possible for both parties to do so), this can be done with no additional charge. If a client cancels a session with at least five hours notice, I will not charge for the session. If session is cancelled under 5 hours before the start, I may still have to charge due to time spent gathering resources etc. (of course, circumstances of cancellation will be considered).
If I should need to cancel (e.g. due to an emergency), you will not be charged. If I need to rearrange, we can try and find another time that works for you; if this is not possible, you will not be charged and we can resume at the next session.
If a client should have to leave before the end of the session, the full amount will still be charged.
There is no refund policy, however sessions can be terminated by the client at any time without additional charge (if notice is given at least five hours before next session would have taken place).
The rate is for one child only.
