About Ethan
I am about to graduate with an integrated Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Sheffield, predicted 1st Class. I particularly focussed on Pure Maths, such as Group Theory, Algebra, Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry and Topology. I have A Levels in Mathematics and Further Mathematics and have a fantastic grounding in subjects such as Calculus, Trigonometry, Proofs and Number Theory.

I try to approach teaching as a conversation. I like to work through some examples slowly with the student, answering questions and working at their pace to try and help them to gain a full understanding of each subject.
I will accomplish this through analogies and comparisons, as well as minimal working examples to make even the most complex problems approachable.
From this stage, I will then push the student to work through similar examples without as much support, and then gauge which areas are not yet fully understood before proceeding.
In this way I hope to not only help the student to pass exams, but also to gain an understanding of the mechanisms behind the methods, which will help them to adapt and use what they already know in order to better prepare them for unseen problems.
