About Sonia
Honestly, I spent way too much time memorizing formulas during my own studies before realizing that understanding the underlying logic is the only way to actually succeed. Over the past 3 years, I have worked with 169 students, helping them conquer organic chemistry, electrochemistry, exam preparation, mole concept, chemical bonding, equation balancing, and thermochemistry. These students range from those just starting their NCEA journey to those targeting University Entrance. My role is to show you how to think through these problems so you can eventually solve them without needing me at all.

The most important part of my teaching is that 100 percent of the concepts we cover are built on solid fundamentals rather than rote memorization. Since earning my MSc Chemistry from the University of Otago, I have spent 3 years refining a method that focuses on the reasoning behind every reaction. We move at a pace that allows you to fully grasp the material before adding new layers of complexity to our discussion. A homework module is assigned with every lesson to reinforce your learning, ensuring you feel prepared to handle whatever the next exam throws at you.
